The Impression of Commencement Speech by Steve Jobs

 Apple is one of the most famous companies in the world, I am very confused that when the Apple company published a new product, they always invited Steve Jobs to deliver the new product. Now, I understand. After hearing the commencement speech Steven Jobs on June 12, 2005 at Stanford University, I am very impressed. He delivered three dots make me think a lot about my life. The first is the view of education. The second is dream. The third is death.

   I think the education is very important to everyone. Each country has its own culture. In order to get knowledge, we must go to school in Taiwan. We must have to get a degree. So, you can get better job. If you do not go to the college, you will not be allowed to have the higher salary a good job. The actual social views the degree as money. However, the education in the other country is base on you should learn by yourself. Steven Jobs let me know the degree is not the most important thing in your life. He dropped out from school, because he really knew what he wanted. I admire his courage, how can we determine this is what you want. I often hesitate what I want, so I always ask myself “This is my way?”; “My choice is right?” I am not like Steve Jobs. I am not so confident that believe my choice. After the speech, I hope that I have enough courage to face the obstacles.

  Everyone has own dream. It can be big and it can be small. Most of all is that you should find out what you loved as soon as possible. Only find out what you loved, you can get your goal without fear. However, in the dream journey, you may encounter many difficulties. At 30 years old, Steve Jobs was fired by the Apple stared by him, but he did not yield to fate. He is the most persistent man I have never seen. We are always afraid of the challenge in our own way. As far as I am concerned, the road of success is not very easy to go. I always give up what I want to do, just because it needs much time to finish. In my life, I never make any effort to do anything. The speech is rally inspired me.

   Death is not only far but also close to me. Steve Jobs has been so close to death. He realized the life is important. Nothing is more horrible than death. As result, he considered today is the late day to live. Once, I have been the fear, too. I understand his feeling. If you know you only have less than three months to live, you will not waste your time. For me, because of the major, I did not care about my health. I always stayed up all night to do my homework. Recently, my health is broken by myself and I am no longer like before.

   “ Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. ” is the finally sentence Steve Jobs gave us. This sentence has much power to push me to make the dream come true. Only stay hungry, you want to get more things. Only stay foolish, you want to learn more knowledge. I must remember this sentence.
